What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation and focused concentration. It's often described as a trance-like state, but it's more accurate to say it's a meditative state. During hypnosis, we use verbal cues, questions, various body-movements to help your body and unconscious mind unlock it's inner wisdom. Once in this state, we use various prompts and techniques to explore and address physical sensations, bodily tensions, and other somatic manifestations of psychological issues.
My approach, called Somatic Hypnotherapy, combines my training in clinical hypnotherapy with mindfulness, sound, breathing and somatic therapy techniques, addressing both psychological and physical aspects of well-being.
I’ve been where you are
I’ve spent the last decade empowering myself and others all over the world to heal from physical and psychological illness and disease. I am always a student first and went through years of suffering and recovery to reach where I am today. I approach my work with immense compassion and a deep level of understanding of the unconscious mind, body and somatic approaches to healing from both an Eastern and Western perspective. Working with professionals from all walks of life has been incredibly humbling and I make it my mission to see you as a whole, complete person with a deep capacity to heal and awaken your deepest potential. Please feel free to reach out and see if we are a good match. It would be my honor to work with you.
The combination of hypnosis and somatic techniques allows individuals to access & process subconscious emotions and beliefs that may be contributing to mental health challenges & physical symptoms.
How Does Somatic Hypnotherapy Work?
Through guided relaxation and focused concentration, hypnosis helps you enter a state of heightened awareness. Combined with body-work, you can expect to get real results, fast, and begin the process of healing and creating positive and measurable results in your life. In somatic hypnotherapy sessions, you are guided into a hypnotic state to access the subconscious mind. By addressing both the psychological and physical aspects of a person's experience, somatic hypnotherapy aims to promote holistic healing, emotional release, and integration.
Hypnosis leverages neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to rewire itself utilizing theta brain wave states to reshape these beliefs. Neuroplasticity shows us that our brains are not fixed; they’re continually shaped by our experiences and learning. Learning new, positive behaviors through hypnosis means creating fresh neural pathways. The key is to replace old, unhelpful limiting beliefs held in the body with ones that align with your ambitions and goals, leading to empowered behavior change.

There is some idea how hypnosis works and what occurs in the brain when we are put into a hypnotic state. Luckily, as more research is conducted the positive effects of hypnotherapy are being documented and clearly identified. For example, in this paper there is strong evidence that hypnotherapy is highly effective for pain, irritable bowel syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorder, and insomnia.
